About Mrs. Vrazel
Teaching is my passion. Elementary students have an enthusiasm for learning that is thrilling to witness. I am excited to explore the world with our students by encouraging and engaging their individual passions and helping each student develop a lifelong love for learning. This will be my fifth year teaching at Caraway, and my first teaching third grade. I taught for two years in Georgetown, before making my transition to our wonderful and diverse school. Through support and encouragement students will be nurtured and grow as learners. I am thrilled to welcome you to our class and excited to get to know each family and child this upcoming year!
I was born and raised in Austin, making me a rare true Austinite. I received an Undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Texas State University, and I received a Master's degree from Texas A&M in Educational Psychology. I love learning, and will frequently take classes, or read, to expand my knowledge base - currently I am researching the best way to install a tile backsplash! I am the proud mother of two wonderful girls, Charly - a fifth grader this year at Caraway, and Maekenzie - a precocous baby who turns one October 27! My wonderful husband, Shane, also has ties to our school, having attended Caraway when it was North Oaks Elementary and proudly tells me that he knew the REAL Kathy Caraway! I love being a part of this special community and look forward to making life long memories with you and your children!
